Location

This is the location were we are going to film the artist and the actress sitting down laughing and talking. We wanted this to be a light happy location that seems relaxed.

This is where we are going to film the artist waking up and looking at the picture frames on the side. We wanted this room to be bright and casual at the same time. We also wanted the room to look as though someone young was staying there.
This is where we are filming the artist singing with the background behind the artist changing, this will make the video visually interesting. We want this to be bright and fun to lift the energy of the video up.

Island records work with Uk artists such as Dizzie Rascal, Florence and the machine, Jessie J, James Morrison, Leona Lewis, Rizzle Kicks, Robbie Williams. They have also worked with extremely well known artists worldwide such as Nicki Minaj, Drake, Iggy Azalea and many more. This would be an ideal record label for us as it has been involved with a lot of different music genres therefore they would know how to adapt perfectly for us and be a great use to us.

Story board

These are the story boards to our music video.

Music Video Costumes

Convention of a pop music video

Conventions of a pop music video are;
Fast paced editing- fast paced editing is used to keep up with the beat this will make the music video flow better and make for a better watch for the audience. Normally the pace of the editing will pick up when it gets to the chorus of the song this is because it is the main part of the song and the fast paced editing will emphasis this.

High key lighting- High key lighting is used to because it makes the video look brighter and makes it look like the artist is having a good time. This is because pop video are videos which send a happy message and the high key lighting emphasizes this.

Close ups of the main artist- Close ups of the main artist are used in music videos to show that he is the most important person in the video and to make him stand out from the rest of the cast in the music video.

Costume- Costume is a very important factor in a music video because it helps to show what genre your music video is. For example in a pop music video it is conventional for the artist to have stylish clothing, however if you were filming a pop video wearing clothes which you would wear in a heavy metal video it wouldn't go along with the pop theme.
Typical pop video attire,

Letter

This letter is writing to Olly Murs' record label, which is asking them if we can use his song 'Tell The World' in our A2 media project. We have chosen this song because we believe we have good ideas in mind to do it to the best of our ability and get the best possible grade.

Age Ratings

Mixed Ideas

Through thinking about how we are going to present the music video. i had the idea that we should create a music video were its a video within a video. I was inspired by the video of Calvin Harris - ready for the weekend. However, we didn't think that by doing this our music video wouldn't be as creative as it could be. It would also be difficult to construct.

Another example of when this idea has been used is  Demi Lovato Give your heart a break. Within this video the artist is putting picture on a wall of all the memory's she spent with her boyfriend. Then the camera takes you to the actual moment that they spent when they took the picture.

However, we wanted the picture to come to life, an example of this is Jennifer Lopez Love don't cost a thing. Within this video there is a post card that the artist is holding. Then the camera zooms in on the card and then it comes to life.

Age Ratings for Music Videos

What is the problem?
The problem is that the people who make and release the music videos feel that their are certain aspects to their video that young people under a certain age should not view. This is because a lot of the things showed are explicit or there is a lot of sex related actions made in music videos. It is also a problem as these videos are too easily accessed by young people as there are no restrictions on music videos.

What is the proposed solution?
The proposed solution will be that there will be age restrictions on music videos to stop young people from seeing the sort of explicit things in music videos. This will also be done in order to enable the parents to restrict their children from watching these sorts of music videos. They also want to make two versions to music videos which have features which young people should not see so that they can see a more sensible version to the music video.

Why has this solution been proposed?
This solution has been proposed so that the parents of the children can stop their children from viewing features of videos which they should not be viewing.

What are the advantages of this solution?
An advantage to this is that it will enable the children to stop viewing explicit music videos which they should not be viewing. Another advantage to this is that the parents are able to control what their child or children will be able and will not be able to watch. Another advantage to making two types of videos would be that the person still would be able to watch the music video but it will be a non explicit type.

What are the disadvantages of this solution?
A disadvantage to this solution would mean that the target audience of the artist might get cut as not everyone would be able to view the video, therefore the artist will feel they might not be able to give across the feeling that they are interacting with the audience. The video will also not be viewable to a lot of people as a lot of music videos are viewed by young people, therefore this might frustrate the artists and it may also annoy young people as they may want to view the explicit version of the music video.

What are the limitations of this solution?
A limitation is that they might not be sure what is suitable for what specific age to be able to watch, therefore they might have problems in deciding.

Do you think it will make a difference?
I think it will make a difference as it will ensure that someone who is under aged will not be watching the videos that they should not be watching.

Which videos do you think will receive a 15 or 18 rating?
I think videos which will receive a rating will be the ones with women that are not wearing a lot of clothes or are doing any inappropriate dancing or acting.
